Amtek Plastics UK Ltd are a rapidly growing Plastic Injection Moulding company based in Heathfield, Newton Abbot, and we are in a position where we are looking to recruit ambitious individuals who has experience of the Plastic Injection Moulding environment, particularly the Setting of Machines.
Background to include modern manufacturing experience, with a good knowledge of lean manufacturing, and health and safety cultures. Must have a good practical background, and be able to offer the following.
Ensuring tools are set and machines are tuned to meet product and component specifications, and tolerances. Have a good knowledge of how to, operate plastic injection moulding machinery to produce various products and components. Carry out tool changes and have a good general knowledge of maintenance of all tooling, and how it works. Monitor all production, and able to make adjustment to ensure cycle times are being achieved and production is as efficient as possible. Ensuring a high level of quality and maintaining repeatability. Responding quickly to any machine breakdowns and be able work in a team, and contribute to improving component quality. Ensure that all necessary production documentation is completed on time, is accurate and can be understood by others. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the company Health & Safety Policy
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in an injection moulding role. Knowledge of different materials, injection moulding machines and mould tools. Setting machines and optimising processes Skills: Good practical skills and ability to handle small components and assemblies. Have a good attention to detail. Able to work effectively in a team. Good personal and effective communication skills. Awareness of health and safety issues. Good time management.
Working on alternating shifts – one week will be 6.00am to 2.30pm, the next week will be 2.00pm to 10.30pm. Salary dependent on experience.
We need skilled and determined personnel to run Injection Moulding machines, understand how they work, with the ability to learn how to tool change, fault find, and improve efficiencies. For the right people, we have an ambitious career path for this position with a full training matrix to get you to a senior position within our business. For this position, you would need to be physically fit, and show a certain urgency in your approach to your work.
We operate on alternate shifts, therefore one week will be the early shift starting at 06:00, the next week will be the late shift starting at 14:00.
We need people who have excellent attention to detail, and someone who can really lead from the front and pass on ideas for good practice. Experience of 'Lean' and '6 Sigma' would be advantageous although we will have on site training.
